Chet began a career with General Motors in 1964 at the age of twenty-one. At the time it was the opportunity to work with a large corporation with good benefits, advancement and a reasonable compensation. Who knew it would evolve into a thirty-five year commitment. After nine moves and 14 different assignments he retired in 1999 with a great education in business management, marketing, advertising, training, quality control, personnel management and customers service.

 

After a little rest and a year dedicated to run for political office. he decided it was time for a career change. In 2004, at the insistence of his brother, who has been in the Hearth (Fireplace and Stove) business for almost forty years, Chet and Jane started a small Fireplace and Patio business in Hartwell, Georgia. In 2006 a plan was developed to open a Fireplace Showroom in Norcross, Georgia. On February 6, 2007 the Showroom was completed and Chet and Jane, also a General Motor retiree, opened the doors of North Atlanta Fireplace, Inc.

 

With one of the nicest fireplace, stove and grill showrooms in Georgia they received the designation of Gold Level Dealer by CFM Corp., the parent company for Majestic and Vermont Castings products. The showroom features twelve burning fireplaces (wood, gas, and electric fireplaces), gas logs, gas grills, built-in grills, custom glass doors, accessories and the Big Green Egg.

 

They have tried to utilize their combined work experience to develop a business dedicated to the premise of providing quality products at a fair price in a friendly down home environment. They work closely with Remodelers, Interior Designers, Custom Home Builders and anyone who needs advice when planning a new home, tackling a remodeling project or just looking for a new grill or a Big Green Egg.

 

Chet and Jane both enjoy working with people. They don't try to sell anything - its their goal to help the customer make the right purchasing decision.
